Due to regional WBOP representative fixtures, I have amended the dates of our junior club champs as follows:
Singles will be played on Sunday March 20, 2016
Doubles will be played on Sunday April 3, 2016
Rain Day is Sunday April 10, 2016.
You will need to be at the courts by 8:30am. Matches will start at 9:00am.
Eligibility: Your age as of April 30, 2016 ie. if you are 13 years on April 30, 2016, you will enter the 14 age group.
Entries Close: Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 8pm.
Our club champs will be run tournament-style. It will be partly scheduled using tournament planner. See the URL.
Draws will be formatted depending on number of entries received. ie. age groups may be combined. There will be consolation rounds.
We will use the junior ladder to determine the seeds.
You can find your own doubles partner or enter partner required although it is better if you do find your own. Make sure they are in the same age group as you. If you are in the 12s and your doubles partner is in the 14s, you will both play in the 14s.
Match Format:
Singles: All ages except 10s will play best of 2 sets with a super tie-breaker in lieu of a third set if required. 10s will play first to 9 games with tie-breaker at 8 games all.
Doubles: All ages except 10s will play first to 11 with a tie-breaker at 10 games all. 10s will play first to 9 games with a tie-breaker at 8 games all.
You can sign up by:
1. Adding your name to the sign-up sheet on the junior notice board.
2. Entering online using tournament planner. NOTE: Member ID is your Configure Rankings Code.
3. Email to juniors@otumoetaitennis.co.nz with Club Champs and your name in the subject line. Provide your date of birth and what events you are playing in. If you have a doubles partner, add that too but make sure you check first with them to see if they are available to play with you.
There is no cost. Prizes will be awarded at the Junior Prize Giving which is scheduled for Saturday April 16, 2016.
