Hello Junior,

The 2016 Senior Men's and Ladies Doubles CLub Championships are set for Saturday, 19th March, with early rounds played Friday evening (18th March) if the number of entries so require.
To encourage more entries, both Competitive and Social Grades are available. A sign-up sheet will be posted tonight on the Bulletin Board downstairs at the Club. Or call/e-mail Fred at 544-5088/fredkleve@yahoo.com. There is a $5 per person entry fee for this competition.
Juniors of suitable ability are eligible to play in this competition - if you are unsure, please talk to Jason or Julia.

OTC Juniors: Post-Xmas Junior Interclub

This 4-week competition will be played on the following Saturdays: February 27, March 5, March 19 and April 2.

The draws are currently being finalized by Tennis Waikato Bays and will be available soon.

Unfortunately, there will be no Hotshots competition this time. Therefore, the following players will not be playing interclub for this competition: Shlok Kansara, Kesha Kansara, Marc Spanswick and Jordan Skelton.

OTC Juniors: 2016 OTC Junior Club Champs

Hi ,

Due to regional WBOP representative fixtures, I have amended the dates of our junior club champs as follows:

Singles will be played on Sunday March 20, 2016
Doubles will be played on Sunday April 3, 2016
Rain Day is Sunday April 10, 2016.

You will need to be at the courts by 8:30am. Matches will start at 9:00am.

Eligibility: Your age as of April 30, 2016 ie. if you are 13 years on April 30, 2016, you will enter the 14 age group.

Entries Close: Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 8pm.

Our club champs will be run tournament-style. It will be partly scheduled using tournament planner. See the URL.

Draws will be formatted depending on number of entries received. ie. age groups may be combined. There will be consolation rounds.

We will use the junior ladder to determine the seeds.

You can find your own doubles partner or enter partner required although it is better if you do find your own. Make sure they are in the same age group as you. If you are in the 12s and your doubles partner is in the 14s, you will both play in the 14s.

Match Format:
Singles: All ages except 10s will play best of 2 sets with a super tie-breaker in lieu of a third set if required. 10s will play first to 9 games with tie-breaker at 8 games all.
Doubles: All ages except 10s will play first to 11 with a tie-breaker at 10 games all. 10s will play first to 9 games with a tie-breaker at 8 games all.

You can sign up by:
1. Adding your name to the sign-up sheet on the junior notice board.
2. Entering online using tournament planner. NOTE: Member ID is your Configure Rankings Code.
3. Email to juniors@otumoetaitennis.co.nz with Club Champs and your name in the subject line. Provide your date of birth and what events you are playing in. If you have a doubles partner, add that too but make sure you check first with them to see if they are available to play with you.

There is no cost. Prizes will be awarded at the Junior Prize Giving which is scheduled for Saturday April 16, 2016.

OTC Juniors: Saturday Club Coaching Tomorrow

My weather app says Saturday "Partly sunny and pleasant". YEAH!

Reminding you that our Saturday Hotshots Club Coaching sessions start again tomorrow.

Please attend the session you attended last term unless you have been otherwise advised by club coach Jason.

If you are new, hopefully Jason or I have already had a discussion about this with you. If not, please see the criteria below and attend the session that you think best-fits your child. We can revise if required once Jason has had an opportunity to see you.

Red Stage for 5-8yrs: 9am to 10am
Orange Stage for 8-10yrs: 10am to 11am
Green Stage for 9+yrs: 11am to 12pm

I am very busy right now with the Arbor Care Junior Tournament we are having next weekend. I will submit our teams to Tennis Waikato Bays tomorrow Sunday February 7 at 12:30pm. Wednesday at club coaching will be too late.

Club Day Tennis Waitangi Weekend

Club Day tennis this Waitangi weekend will be on Monday at 1:30 p.m., weather cooperating.

OTC Juniors: Term 1 Club Coaching

For those of you who went back to school today, I hope you had a good day!

A reminder that term 1 club coaching begins this week.

Wednesday Club Coaching starts tomorrow Wednesday February 3.

This would be a good time for you to sign up for Post-Xmas Interclub (SEE JULIA) ... the names I have so far are: Hank and John An, Ollie Farrant, Azmi Hirota, Paul Rix, Oscar Porter, Joel Kennerley, Josh Vincent, Joey Deckers, Mino Deckers, Lewis Hope, Nick Freeman, Ethan Landon, Ben Jones, Liam Petch, Cate Belton, Annah Hanson, Tyla Gartner, Eva Griffin-Jones, Nicole Bell, Jade Chin, Lucy Schuler, Jiwoo Kwak.

Teams will change as some players have indicated that they are not available this term ... teams could/will be gender neutral.

This would also be a good time for you to talk to me about the Arbor Care Junior Tournament ...

SATURDAY HOTSHOTS CLUB COACHING ... there will be no Saturday sessions on February 6 and 13 because of tournaments, so your coaching starts with 2 Friday coaching sessions this coming Friday February 5 and 12.

If you come on Saturdays from 9:00 to 10:00, you will come from 3:30 to 4:30.

If you come on Saturdays from 10:00 to 11:00, you will come from 4:30 to 5:30.

If you come on Saturdays from 11:00 to 12:00, you will come from 5:30 to 6:30.

Saturday sessions begin on February 20 as before.
