DAVIS CUP VOLUNTEERS:
Further to the email request for helpers for the Davis Cup Tennis yesterday, please remember this is also the same weekend as our Junior Tournament if you are thinking of volunteering.
In addition, I have had a few enquiries from parents with regards to the Otumoetai Tournament. For those of you that are new to tournaments, please note the following:
AGE GROUPS: 10s = 10years and under, 12s = 12years and under etc.
GAME SCORING: It is recommended that participants are confident on scoring as children are required to umpire their own games, 10s play first to 9 games, whilst the older age groups play best of 3 sets – super tie break in the 3rd set if required.
DOUBLES PARTNERS: Partners for doubles do not have to belong to the same tennis club. They do however have to be entered in the same age group for singles. Eg: A child who plays in the 10s for singles cannot play up in the 12s for doubles.
We hope to see lots of our younger juniors involved.
PARENT HELPERS
We also still desperately need offers of parent help over the weekend, we have 4 junior committee members who unfortunately are not able to run this tournament alone and parent help will considerably contribute to the success of this tournament.
