Club Day Tennis Moved to Sunday This Weekend

Hello ,

As the Otumoetai courts are being used for the Kiwifruit Coast Seniors Tournament on Saturday, 29th August, Club Day tennis will be on Sunday, 30th August, this weekend, starting at 1 p.m.

Please remember that there is no casual play on Saturday until after 3:30 p.m.

2015 Friday Night Interclub

Hello ,

The 2015 Friday Night Interclub competition has been announced. Play will start on Friday, 2nd October 2015. The formats will be same as last year, with Men's A Grade (singles and doubles), Men's Doubles and Ladies Doubles. Teams are limited to 6 players. Anyone playing in the Regional Premier Interclub competition on Saturdays is also eligible to play in Friday Night Interclub.
If you are interested in playing Friday Night Interclub, please put your name/phone number on the sign-up sheet posted on the Senior Bulletin Board downstairs in the Clubhouse, or contact Fred at 544-5088. Players can request a team roster, but final decisions can only be made after a meeting of propsective team captains.
Team Rosters must be submitted by 8th Sept., so please indicate your interest by Friday, 4th Sept.
Juniors of suitable experience/maturity are eligible to play in this competition. Please check with Jason, Club Coach, if you have a question about suitability for this competition.

Courts Reserved 23rd and 29th August

Hello ,

The Otumoetai tennis courts are reserved on Sunday, 23rd August (WBOP Married Couples De-Facto Partners Tournament), and Saturday, 29th August (Kiwifruit Coast Seniors Tournament). Courts will be available for casual play after 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, the 23rd, and probably about the same time on Saturday, the 29th, depending upon numbers of entries in the Kiwifruit Coast Tournament.

Reminder 2015 AGM Sat 22nd August 2015

Just a reminder that the OTC Annual General Meeting is this Saturday, 22nd August 2015, at 3:30 p.m., following regular Club Day tennis. All Senior club members are eligible to vote at this meeting.

OTC Juniors: Open Days

Hi Junior Members,

Yes, the weather is warming up (I think) which means it is time to start thinking TENNIS TENNIS TENNIS, so I am just letting you know that we will be having our Junior Open Days for the 2015 to 2016 tennis season as follows:

Saturday September 12 from 10 to 12
Wednesday September 23 from 3:30 to 5:30
Saturday September 26 from 10 to 12

You are welcome to come down for some, part or all of these sessions and bring your friends too! There is no cost.

Jason will be there and will have you out on the court. I will be on hand to provide you and your parents with more information.

Jason has a limited number of racquets for you to use if you do not have your own. Please make sure you are wearing suitable sports footwear and comfortable sports attire.

I have also updated our Junior website to reflect this information. I will update the membership portion of the website with forms, cost etc as soon as we have had our AGM which is scheduled for this coming Saturday August 22.

1. Membership Fees are due October 1.
2. Term 4 Wednesday Club Coaching begins on October 14, 2015.
3. Term 4 Saturday Club Coaching begins on October 17, 2015.
4. Pre-Xmas Junior Interclub is scheduled to begin on Saturday October 31. This competition is coordinated by Tennis Waikato Bays. You can sign up to play on 1 of our OTC teams at our Open Days. I will also have a signup sheet on the Junior Notice Board. More info to follow. If you are unsure about participating, please talk to me or Jason.
