Courts Unavailability 2nd/3rd Jan 2015

Hello ,

The Otumoetai Tennis Club courts will be unavailable for casual play on Friday, 2nd Jan (up to approx. 1:30 pm) and Saturday, 3rd Jan (up to approx. 3:30 pm). The courts have been reserved for the WBOP Seniors Jan Open Tournament singles (Fri) and Doubles (Sat).

Waitangi Weekend Otumoetai Seniors Tournament

Hello ,

Please find attached the entry forms for this Senior (over 35) tournament, at Otumoetai.

This is also the 25th Anniversary of the club on the park, so we plan to make this event even more special, so do not miss out.

Even if you are unable to play, then lots of helpers will be required, so please contact Viv Jones offering your help, even if only for a few hours on either day.

OTC Juniors: Saturday Hotshots Club Coaching

Hi Junior Members,

A reminder that Saturday morning Hotshots Club Coaching ends for the year on Saturday December 20, 2014. In addition to the coaching sessions, we will have a sausage sizzle and drink for the kids to celebrate the festive season.

I would appreciate some help from attending parents with the BBQ and distribution.

Sessions will begin again for term 1 when school resumes. I will let you know by email closer to the time.

OTC Juniors: Wednesday Club Coaching

A reminder that Wednesday December 17, 2014 is our last Wednesday club coaching session for this year. Term 1 sessions will resume next year when school starts again. I'll let you know the date by email nearer the time.

OTC Juniors: Configure Rankings/Ladder Info

Hi Junior Members,

This email is being sent to all OTC Juniors.

I have had a number of questions on Configure Rankings.

Configure Rankings is a Grading List of all competitive tennis players in New Zealand. All players, regardless of age, are in the same list, however there are separate lists for males and females.

Internet access is required. Please talk with your parents FIRST or ask them to help you.

For an overview on Configure Rankings go to www.tenniswaikatobays.co.nz and on the left hand side, there is a list in purple ... select ConfigureRankings Overview.

How do you find out how you are ranked in Configure Rankings?

Under Popular Links on the Tennis Waikato Bays website ... select Configure Rankings and enter your Surname, Gender and Club. (Otumoetai is listed)

If you are a competitive tennis player ... ie. you play interclub or you enter tournaments in which those tournament results are entered into Configure Rankings, your name should show up.

How does Configure Rankings relate to the Junior Tennis Ladder? There is no direct link (ladder results will not be entered). We have done our best to organize the order. The aim is get you playing more competitive tennis so that you can demonstrate your prowess and progress. As you can imagine, keeping track of every competitive match you have all played outside of the club is not easy. Like I said, we have done our best. Results will be used to form Post-Xmas Interclub teams and seedings for Club Champs and our Legacy OTC Tournament in February.

Jason has advised that if you have played a fellow club member in interclub or tournaments this season, these results will count re the ladder. Give him the details of your results at club coaching.

So kids, if you have any questions regarding the Junior Ladder, please talk to Jason at club coaching.

We have decided to initiate a junior ladder. This is to stop any comments/questions re how players are ranked for interclub teams and any other activities such as the club champs.

If you feel you are better ... it is up to you players to do what you need to do. Our post-Xmas interclub teams will be ranked using this ladder.
